Spain - Course on Salesian Bishop Marcelino Olaechea
Valencia, Spain - February 2017 - The Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), organized a course from 22 to 24 February entitled "Marcelino Olaechea: Church, Society and Politics (1935-1966)". There were 55 participants, including 15 Salesians from the two Provinces in Spain, and 30 others. During the three days, there were interventions from various specialists who have studied the historical context, the key episodes of the life of Bishop Olaechea, his involvement in social works, his work for the protection of educational rights of the Church and his relationship with the Second Vatican Council. There was also a round table discussion on the initiatives of the Salesian Bishop.
