Philippines – “Knights of the Altar” Celebrate the Feast of Saint Pedro Calungsod
Lawaan, Philippines – April 2025 – The Knights of the Altar (KOA) from the Don Bosco Training Center in Lawaan gathered on April 6 to celebrate the feast of their patron saint, Saint Pedro Calungsod, missionary catechist and martyr. The celebration began with the screening of a film about the life of the saint, highlighting his deep faith, selfless sacrifice, unwavering courage, and profound devotion. After the film, KOA President Kuya Kent Bryle invited everyone to enter into a moment of silent reflection and prayer. This was followed by the recitation of the Rosary, meditating on the lives of Jesus, Mary, and Saint Pedro Calungsod. The day concluded with a friendly basketball tournament, where KOA members showcased their athletic skills and demonstrated a strong sense of unity and camaraderie. The entire event beautifully echoed the words of Psalm 133: “How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity!”
