Democratic Republic of the Congo – Salesian Don Bosco Ngangi College Celebrates Women’s Day with Reflection and Festivities

Goma, D.R. Congo – March 2025 – The Don Bosco Ngangi College organized a special Women’s Day event, marking the conclusion of the month dedicated to women on Saturday, 29th March. The gathering brought together 220 female students and five supervisors at the Don Bosco Ngangi Youth Center.

The day aimed to celebrate the essential role of women in society while promoting values of leadership, solidarity, and respect for African traditions. Activities began with a conference led by Sr. Melpomène Kayiba (S.D.S.) on the theme "Women, the Hope of Humanity," addressing key topics such as African women's values, their role in justice and peace, and their contributions to development and politics. She encouraged young women to become responsible leaders while preserving cultural values.

The event continued with a Eucharistic celebration led by Diocesan Abbot Prosper Sadiki, followed by a moment of prayer and sharing. In the afternoon, participants engaged in cultural activities, expressing their creativity through dance and song in a spirit of camaraderie.

The day served as an opportunity for young women to recognize their potential and active role in shaping a better future for society.
