Venezuela – Salesian Spirituality Retreat: A Journey of Reflection and Faith for Animators in SDB and FMA Structures

Santa Fe, Venezuela – March 2025 – From March 14 to 16, the serene atmosphere of the "El Tabor de Alto" Retreat House in Santa Fe provided the setting for an inspiring Salesian Spirituality Retreat organized by the Salesian Youth Ministry.

This event brought together 62 lay animators in volved in pastoral accompaniment from Salesian presences of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), under the motto "Walking with Mother Mazzarello and Don Bosco."

During these days of deep spirituality, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life and legacy of the founders. Fr. Rafael Borges delivered a moving historical reflection on Don Bosco, emphasizing his dedication and love for young people. Meanwhile, Sr. Jimena Jaramillo provided an inspiring overview of Mother Mazzarello’s unwavering faith and commitment to the education and care of young women.

Fr. Jorge Bastidas, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, encouraged participants to embrace silence and deep contemplation, fostering a stronger connection with God and the Salesian founders. This call to introspection allowed the animators to reflect on their role in accompanying today’s youth with greater dedication and love.

These were days of prayer, meditation, and spiritual listening, leaving participants renewed and strengthened in their mission to serve young people and follow in the footsteps of the Salesian founders.
