India - Salesian St Xavier's School shines at the National Competition of School Bands

New Delhi, India - January 2025 - The Salesian St Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, brought honour to Tripura by securing the second prize in the ‘Musical Bands’ category at the prestigious National Level School Band Competition held at the Dhyan Chand stadium in New Delhi, from 24 to 25 January. The event saw the participation of 16 bands from all over India, in different categories. The ‘Boys’ Brass Band' team from “St. Xavier's School”, representing the East Zone, enchanted the audience with their enchanting music and coordinated choreography, standing out among the fierce competition. The school's team of 29 boys aged between 13 and 17 performed with remarkable energy and precision. Their repertoire included 13 lively pieces of music, combined with intricately choreographed steps that delighted both the audience and the judges. The team demonstrated confidence and discipline, earning them well-deserved recognition on the national stage. The event was attended as chief guest by the Minister of Defence of the Government of India, Hon. Sanjay Seth, and other dignitaries from the Ministries of Education and Defence, institutions that organised the initiative.
