Peru - The Salesian School in Breña celebrates 125 years of history
Breña, Spain – January 2025 - The Salesian School in Breña, the flagship of the Salesian schools in Peru, celebrates 125 years of history. On 15 January 1900, the Rector, Fr Carlos Pane began the Students section of the Salesian work in Breña, renamed the Salesian School of Lima (today the San Francisco de Sales Salesian School). 125 years later, the teaching and administrative staff at work during the school holidays gathered in the Crypt of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians to thank them, in front of the remains of the Founder, for such an important achievement. The liturgical part of the tribute was led by Fr Fernando Rodríguez, Promoter of the School who, together with the director of the school, Professor Alexis Barreto, laid a wreath on Fr Pane's grave with the words "Congratulations on these 125 years of educational excellence and service!".
