Vietnam – Missionary Day in the North Delegation of Vietnam
Van Phúc, Vietnam – November 2024 – The Salesians in the Delegation of Vietnam North met on 19 November at the Don Bosco Van Phuc community to celebrate Missionary Day. Many Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Volunteers of Don Bosco, Salesian Cooperators and members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians were present for the occasion. The theme of the event was "Evangelising in the Ministry of the Family" and offered the opportunity to reflect, guided by Bishop Anh Tuan, on issues of family life, on the importance of keeping the faith alive, on migrants and on young people. The Salesian St John Bosco Province of Vietnam also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the sending of its first missionaries ad gentes this year, an important occasion for the members of the Salesian Family, and of help for gaining a deeper appreciation of the missionary spirit. In conclusion, in the homily it was recalled that "mission is the DNA of the Salesian vocation" and that, following the path of Don Bosco, everyone must feel called to serve young people.
