Madrid, Spain – September 2024 – The Faith Education Days (EI) for the start of the year in the Salesian Saint James the Greater Province, Spain (SSM) took place on 21 and 22 September. More than 500 leaders and Salesians in formation, in light of the 2024 pastoral campaign "We are the future", gathered at the conferences held in Atocha (Madrid), Deusto (Bilbao) and Ourense. Under the title "The importance of Being and being there". During the two days, the young participants attended two "TED Talks" led by people of reference and close to the young leaders. Some testified tp their experience of missionary volunteering, others to life in the Youth Centre, time dedicated to the education of the children, accompaniment, etc. Asking the participants what it meant for them to be volunteer animators, they proposed the following ideas: passion, love, community, dedication, enthusiasm, vocation, service, commitment, hospitality. The Saturday afternoon seminars focused on diversity, the “Child Protection System” and the “Somos Casa” project. Seminars conducted in every place by some Salesians, Cooperators and technicians of the federations of Youth Centres.
