Brazil - Salesians baptize 40 young Yanomami in Marauiá
Marauiá, Brazil - 1 November 2016 – Forty young Yanomami were baptized by the Salesians Fr Justino Sarmento and Fr Lázaro De Andrade at the Salesian Mission of Marauiá in the Province of Manaus (BMA). Already in 2015 after repeated requests, Bishop Edson Damian of São Gabriel Cachoeira had baptized some young people of the Komixiwë and Tabuleiro communities, after 50 years of Salesian presence in the Marauiá mission.
