Spain – 47 Salesian Missionary Volunteers sent to 11 countries to "take care of dreams"
Astudillo, Spain – June 2024 – In the Salesian Santa Maria work in Astudillo (Palencia) almost one hundred people participated last weekend (1-2 June) in the last formation meeting to prepare for the Salesian Missionary Volunteering (VMS) course. For 47 people who completed the formation of the VMs, which began in October 2023, the missionary sending mass was celebrated on Sunday, 2 June. The celebration was presided over by Fr Fernando García, Superior of Spain's St James the Greater Province, presenting them with the missionary cross and a shirt with the theme "Volunteers forever". The volunteers who will leave in the coming months are destined for 18 works in 11 countries in Africa and America, and will participate in projects with children in vulnerable situations.
