Timor-Leste – Conclusion of the Provincial Chapter
Dili, Timor-Leste – May 2024 – After four days of prayer and reflection, the thirty-three Chapter members of the Salesian Timor-Leste Vice-Province and other representatives of the Salesian Family and the Salesian Youth Movement concluded the third Provincial Chapter, on 31 May 2024. The closing Mass was presided over by Fr Agostinho Soares, while Fr Anacleto Pires, TLS Superior, thanked the moderator, Fr João Boavida, the secretariat team, the Chapter members and all those present for their contribution to the upcoming GC29. These days also offered Chapter members the opportunity to develop and approve some resolutions, starting from the recommendations left by the Councillor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, Fr Joseph Phuoc, during his Extraordinary Visitation. Finally, Fr Plácido Freitas was elected by the assembly as Delegate who will participate in the GC29.
