Portugal – "Believe in me": the Salesians in Lisbon promote "Soul Mission" for young volunteers
Peniche, Portugal – February 2024 – A group of 52 students from the Salesian secondary school in Lisbon, accompanied by teachers João Fialho and Rita Santos and Salesians Ricardo Mendes and Fr Juan Freitas, participated in "Soul Mission", in the municipality of Peniche, from 10 to 17 February. "Believe in me" was the theme that guided this mission, in which young people deepened their faith and their relationship with God. During the week, divided into seven groups, the children lent a hand at the Padre Bastos Social Centre and the Santa Casa della Misericordia Centre, in two nurseries and in the Aconchego children's centre. They also had the opportunity to offer a testimony to the students at Peniche secondary school and to lead the daily rosary and Eucharist at the parish. The population of Peniche welcomed this group of young people with an open hearts and enormous enthusiasm and it is hoped that this experience can be repeated next year.
