India – India-Mumbai Province organizes an awareness course on digital addictions
Matunga, India – October 2023 – On Thursday, 26 October the Commission for Social Communications in the St Francis Xavier Province of India-Mumbai (INB) organised formation course for formators on the subject of digital addiction. It took place at the Provincial House in Matunga. A total of 35 participants from different institutions in the Province took part in the programme, learning how to educate young people on the use of the media and learning about the widespread problem of digital addiction among young people. The meeting opened with a welcome from Fr Ashley Miranda, INB Vice-Provincial and continued with interventions from Fr Chris Ferreira, Fr Jacob Palaparambil and Fr Robert Pen. Several issues were addressed, including the reasons that push young people to take refuge behind a device to escape difficulties, and the therapies needed to begin the healing process.
