Nigeria - Installation of Rector in New Formation Community Abuja
Abuja, Nigeria – October 2023 – On 18 October, Fr Riccardo Castellini was installed as the Rector of the new Formation community in Abuja by Fr Jorge Crisafulli, Provincial of Nigeria and Niger (ANN). In his reflection, Fr Jorge encouraged the new community and thanked the neighbouring Claretian community for their support. The new formation community consists of 7 students of theology and 4 formators as a starting point. But it is envisaged that the number of students will grow significantly in the coming years as Nigeria is blessed with a good number of vocations. The Salesian students will study at the neighbouring Veritas Catholic University while growing up on a Salesian pastoral program of studies in the community. Some of the formators are also involved in lecturing at the university.
