Talca, Chile - October 2023 - On Wednesday 11 October, as part of his Visit to the Salesian Province of Chile, Fr Joan Lluís Playà, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family Secretariat, arrived in the city of Talca. There he met with the Religious Community and the National Coordinator of Salesian Cooperators (ASC), David Escalona; he then visited the Specialisation workshops of the Educational Centre, greeting students, educators and teachers, and getting to know the equipment and working methods. In the afternoon, Fr Playà met the institute's teachers, to whom he brought greetings from the Rector Major, encouraging them to continue in their educational task. The day continued with a meeting of the Salesian Family Council in Talca and ended with an online meeting with the entire Salesian Family. On the morning of 12 October, Fr Playà gave a “good morning” to the educational community at the education centre, during which he recalled the importance of the Salesian work in Talca, with its 135 years of foundation. He then met with the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the local ASC Council, and the Board of Directors of the Past Pupils Association in Talca. In addition to Fr Playá, the delegation visiting Talca comprised Fr Manuel Jiménez, World Delegate for the Don Bosco Volunteers; Fr David Albornoz, Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family in Chile; and Luis Gálvez of the Provincial House in Chile.
