Pakistan - Past Pupils show solidarity with victims of Jaranwala attacks
Jaranwala, Pakistan - October 2023 - In the spirit of unity, compassion and solidarity, the National Federation of Salesian Past Pupils of Pakistan, together with the local Don Bosco Lahore association, launched a food parcel distribution programme to support 130 families in 5 different Christian areas affected by the recent attacks in Jaranwala. The past pupils distributed over 4,000 kg of food parcels with more than 15 nutritious products on 7 October to provide relief during these difficult times. The National President of the Past Pupils, Asif Daniel Tasleem, thanked all those who contributed to this cause either through donations, volunteering or spreading the word. World Past Pupils President Bryan Magro congratulated the Pakistan Federation for showing concrete solidarity in their work. In a message to the Federation, he said: “This initiative is another best practice of our worldwide organisation that shows the commitment of Past Pupils to be truly active citizens who express solidarity with those most in need. Solidarity is our hallmark that reflects our identity of our love and gratitude to Don Bosco.”
