Batulao, Philippines - 28 September 2023 - The Salesian priests, deacons, clerics and brothers of the Salesian Philippines North province (FIN) in their quinquennium had their first formation meeting on 21-23 September, at the Mary Help of Christians Spirituality House in Batulao, near Batangas. The participants shared their personal pastoral experiences and received formation elements relevant to their ministry. Fr Joel Camaya, SDB, shared his experience of preparing for retreats and preaching. After giving practical advice on how to speak at a retreat, he asked the quinquennium Salesians to develop a retreat module for students at Vocational Training Centres, University and Basic Education. For his part, Fr Danilo Torres, SDB, gave his contribution on the topics of adolescent pastoral care and 'spiritual asphyxia', sharing his reflections and practical experience. Appointments such as this, assure Fr Edwin Ulanday, SDB, responsible for the Salesians in their quinquennium, and the Formation Commission of the FIN Province, are offered to young Salesians to help them in their growth and maturation.
