Lima, Peru – August 2023 – Yesterday, 27 August, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Breña, Lima, a moving and significant ceremony was held for the missionary sending of young Salesian Edwin Seminario Rivera, who is about to leave as a missionary to Africa. The ceremony, carefully organised by the Mission Ministry Team for the Salesian Province of Peru, was presided over by the PER Provincial, Fr Juan Pablo Alcas. During the ceremony, young Edwin shared with those present how his vocation came about. He recounted how his call to the mission was awakened by witnessing the translation of the body of Fr Luis Bolla in Kuyuntsa. Inspired by this event, he told his mother of his decision to follow the missionary path. His story thus reflects how one profound moment can shape our destiny and guide our steps towards a greater purpose.
