Nigeria – Three Salesians ordained to the priesthood
Akure, Nigeria – July 2023 – Salesians from the Africa Nigeria Niger Province (ANN) celebrated the priestly ordination of three of their members: Akinyele Sunday Cyril, Asia Emmanuel Omoruyi and Etunke John-Mary Uche. The ordination took place on Saturday 15 July at Mary Help of Christians Church, in Akure, capital of the federated state of Ondo, Nigeria. The ordaining bishop was Bishop Jude Ayodeji Arogundade, Bishop of Ondo, and the Mass was concelebrated by, among others, the ANN Superior, Fr Jorge Mario Crisafulli. In his homily, the bishop emphasised the responsibilities and blessings associated with the priesthood and the importance of serving the community, cultivating the faith of the faithful and living a life rooted in the teaching of Christ.
