Kinshasa, D.R. Congo – June 2023 –On 25 June, the Salesian Missionary Group organised a visit to the National Museum in Kinshasa. This visit was organised on the sidelines of the activities commemorating the country's independence, and was aimed at enabling the missionaries to rediscover the country's greatness and beauty through its great artistic wealth, in order to strengthen their patriotic spirit and thus adhere to the Salesian pedagogy's ideal of "good Christians and upright citizens". The participants visited the National Museum under the guidance of Mr Adam. The missionaries had the opportunity to visit three large exhibition halls where the artistic wealth of the country is presented in showcases. Through the guide's explanations, the missionaries were able to admire the various works from different cultural areas of the country, contemplate the creative genius of their ancestors and appreciate their inventive insight. At the end of the museum visit, the missionaries went to the Don Bosco Institute in La Gombe, for a Salesian-style meeting of joy and fraternity.
