Hartebeespoort, South Africa – June 2023 – The Salesians from the Southern Africa (AFM) Vice-Province met from 4 to 10 June at the Good Shepherd Retreat Centre for the annual retreat led by Fr Camiel Swertvagher, SDB. The preacher dwelt on the various dimensions of Jesus' life, such as Jesus our Light, Rock, our Joy, the Prince of Peace, Jesus the teacher, Jesus who forgives. In other words, Jesus must always be at the centre of Salesian life. At the end of the retreat, as usual, the Salesians renewed their vows in the presence of Fr Václav Klement, Superior of the AFM Vice-Province. After the retreat, the Salesians took part in the AFM Vice-Province Assembly, which had  communion and renewed commitment to relaunching the Salesian charism as its theme. The Assembly was a moment of unity and joy, animated by Fr Sellam Augustine, Vice-Provincial of the AFE Province.
