Haiti - Fraternal visit of Fr. Hugo Orozco, Interamerica Region Councilor, to Salesian Vice-Province in Haiti
Port-au-Prince, Haiti - May 2023 - From Wednesday, May 17 to Thursday, May 25, the Councilor for the Interamerica Region, Fr. Hugo Orozco, visited the Salesian Vice-Province "Blessed Philip Rinaldi" of Haiti (HAI), intending to greet and encouraging the Salesians who live there and to celebrate with them the Feast of Mary Help of Christians. Fr. Orozco visited seven of the country's 11 Salesian presences, including the communities of Cap Haitien, Fort Liberté, Les Cayes, Carrefour, Gleisson, Petión Ville, and Port-au-Prince, where the Provincial House and Post-Novitiate are located. The Councilor could thus experience firsthand how the Salesians in Haiti are living out their pastoral commitment amidst the severe insecurity in which the country finds itself. He also saw, up close, the work of the local Salesians in favor of the most disadvantaged youth and children.
