Goma, R.D. Congo - May 2023 - On May 21, several thousand youths from Salesian works and members of the Salesian Family from Goma and Shasha participated in the Pilgrimage in honor of Mary Help of Christians organized by the AFC-East Delegation. Starting from the city’s main street, the pilgrims walked about two kilometers, praying the rosary and carrying an image of Mary Help of Christians. Arriving in the inner courtyard of the Salesian work "Boscolac," Fr. Gauthier Tshibangu, AFC-East Provincial Delegate, presided over the Eucharist. During his homily, he reminded the participants that "Walking with Mary as we did this morning has meaning for us. It is a testimony that we have given. With Mary, through this pilgrimage, there are three essential elements to note: pilgrimage as a symbol of purification; pilgrimage as a gift of forgiveness; and pilgrimage as entrustment to Mary."
