Seville, Spain - May 2023 - On May 13 in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Seville, the ceremony of installation of Fr. Fernando Miranda Ustero as the new Superior of the Salesian Province of Spain-Mary Help of Christians (SMX) for the six-year period 2023-2029 was celebrated. The installation Eucharist was presided by Fr. Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, concelebrated by Fr. Ángel Asurmendi, former SMX Provincial, Fr. Manuel Fernando García Sánchez, Superior of the Salesian Province "St. James the Greater" (SSM), and Cardinal Cristóbal López, SDB, Archbishop of Rabat, with a notable participation of Salesians, family members, youth and members of the Salesian Family from different presences of the SMX Province. "We are living an extraordinary moment. Dear Fernando, what you see is an expressive sign of the gift of God that animates, guides and accompanies this dear Province of Mary Help of Christians. Here are those who represent it," commented Fr. Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, inviting the participants to welcome the new Provincial with joy. "He is the gift that God gives us." There were also words of gratitude for the work, generosity and efforts of Fr. Ángel Asurmendi for his years of service. The Councilor for the Mediterranean Region also took the opportunity to bring the Rector Major's message for this day.
