Korea - Vocations Sunday in Korea
Seoul, Korea - 4 May 2023 - On April 30, 2023, the Korean Salesian province held a Vocations Sunday event. 25 young men and 30 young women participated in the event, accompanied by 15 SDB confreres and 20 FMA sisters. The vocation ministry team of the Korean province is working hard to revitalize vocation through various attempts. This is a dedicated attempt to promote the Salesian vocation in Korean society, where the number of young people interested in vocation is rapidly decreasing. The theme of this year’s Vocations Sunday event was ‘Separately and Together’. In accordance with this theme, they had a time to promote the ministry of each congregation in the morning, and SDB young people and FMA young people gathered together for lunch. In the afternoon, they participated in a fun program called ‘Joyful Salesian Vocation’ and shared rejoice together. The final sending mass was celebrated by Korean provincial Fr. Timothy Choi, who introduced his vocation through a homily and invited young people to participate in the Salesian vocation.
