United Kingdom - Don Bosco Youth Net - Mental Health in Youth Work
Bollington, U.K. - April 2023 - Mental Health is becoming an ever important issue, and members of Don Bosco Youth Net (DBYN) has identified Mental Health with Young People as a priority for the network, especially looking at Mental Health, post-pandemic. In the first week of April, 18 young people from 6 countries, including 3 from the UK, came together at Savio House in Bollington for a training course looking at Mental Health in Youth Work. The course looked at what Mental Health is and the levels of Mental illness, what the needs of Young People are, the effects Social Media has on Mental Health, what good practices can each trainer use, and what safeguards should be in place for dealing with Mental Health with Young People. The event was also a chance for those attending the course to showcase what work their organisations did as well as getting to know volunteers from other member organisations. All of the participants enjoyed the week, and ended the course with an affirmation evening and party.
