31 March 2023

Rome, Italy - March 2023 - On Thursday, March 23, the inauguration of the new welding workshop was held within the Salesian Work "Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco" Vocational Training Center, part of the network of the National Center of Salesian Works - Vocational Training and Updating (CNOS-FAP) - Lazio. The workshop was built thanks to the contribution of the "Johnson & Johnson Foundation" and with the collaboration of the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS). The facility, a flagship of the center's industrial mechanics sector, was created with the hope of becoming over time a point of reference for the training of young people and professionals in the sector. The event took on greater importance since it was also the occasion to open the 75th year celebrations of the Salesian Home of the "Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco," founded in 1948. Also speaking during the inauguration were Fr. Daniele Merlini, SDB, Director of the Salesian Home, who shared his reflections on Providence with the community; and Fr. Stefano Aspettati, SDB, Superior of the Salesian Circumscription of Central Italy (ICC), who emphasized the great work that Don Bosco did for young people, also highlighting the many difficulties he had to face. For his part, Fabrizio Tosti, National Director of Formation - CNOS FAP Federation - SALESIANS, affirmed that true formative success consists in the acquisition of skills and abilities that allow one to face life in a conscious and serene way. Also speaking were Silvia De Dominicis, President of the "Johnson & Johnson Foundation"; Giancarlo Canale, from the IIS; and Mauro Caliste, President of the V Municipality.
