India - A youth retreat inspired by Rector Major's 2023 Strenna
Lonavla, India - February 2023 - From February 17 to 19, "Don Bosco Youth Services" organized a youth retreat inspired by the Strenna of Rector Major 2023, "As the Yeast in Today’s Human Family. The Lay Dimension of the Family of Don Bosco," which was held at the "Don Bosco" work in Lonavla. The entire meeting delved into the various topics contained in this year's Strenna and several sessions were given by the young people themselves. Fr. Leon Cruz was the speaker of the first session, based on "The Experience of Yeast," which also included manual preparation of dough and baking bread. This was interspersed with moments of reflection on the Strenna. Among the most touching moments was when the young people, in front of the ready dough, were asked to sit and reflect on their lives, in silence, just like yeast fermenting. This was followed by other sessions exhibited by the youth, a nature trail, and a presentation on young models of holiness in the Salesian Family such as Akash Bashir, Vera Grita, Zeffirino Namuncurá, Francis Kęsy and companions, and Laura Vicuña.
