Kathihar, India-January 2023 - Salesian Deacon Nanku Nicholas Besra, a mechanical engineer, former student of Mary Immaculate School in Kathihar and past pupil of the Salesian Institute in Sonada, was ordained a priest through the laying on of hands and consecratory prayer of Msgr. Julius Marandi, Bishop of Dumka. The ceremony was held at St. Michael's Church in Kathihar in the presence of Fr. Joseph Pauria, Provincial Superior of the Salesian Province of Calcutta (INC), other Salesians, and more than two thousand faithful.
