Nigeria - A Don Bosco celebration "in music" at "Bosco Home"
Lagos, Nigeria - January 2023 - "A home without music is like a body without a soul," Don Bosco used to say, and this maxim of his seems most appropriate to describe the celebration organized by the young people of the "Bosco Home" Child Protection Center in Lagos, Nigeria. The youngsters, in fact, after practicing for months, paid tribute to Don Bosco with a musical performance. Music is an essential element of the Salesian charism and is a powerful means of evangelizing and conveying the Salesian message of God's love and joy. This is why Don Bosco was so passionate about music and urged never to neglect the role of music in the lives of young people. The "Bosco Home" has taken this advice to heart and, realizing the importance of music in the rehabilitation of children, continually explores new possibilities through the provision of musical instruments and materials. This extracurricular program in the home brings relief to children who have suffered trauma and strengthens the family spirit in the lives of its beneficiaries.
