This was the first time that a group of communicators met on mission grounds; thus, the participants were able to learn about Salesian works by visiting the community of Chison, where they were welcomed with great joy. Together with the community, they experienced a Eucharist in the Qeqchí language and later had a meeting with local children to whom they offered sweets and toys. There was also an opportunity to learn about the "Talita Kumi" educational center for young indigenous women and the "Don Bosco Center" for men. Both works touched the hearts of the communicators.
The Salesian community joyfully welcomed this cheerful and playful group, but committed to the Salesian mission of the Communication Sector, so on the last day, the Salesians provided a dinner filled with music and gratitude. Each Salesian communicator returned to their work with a deeper sense of network, family, and Salesian mission. The next meeting is scheduled for November 2023.
