Lubumbashi, DR Congo - November 2022 - On Sunday, November 13, the Salesian Family of the Salesian Province of Central Africa (AFC) gathered at the "Salama Technical Institute" in Lubumbashi to celebrate the canonization of St. Artemide Zatti. On this occasion, all Salesian Coadjutors living in the area were celebrated and honored. Br. Cyprien Bwangi, SDB, who was present in St. Peter's Square on the day of the canonization, gave a talk on the life of the Patagonian nurse saint and also offered a beautiful testimony about his vocation as a Salesian Coadjutor. Afterward, Fr. Tryphon Kalimira, Vicar of the AFC Province, presided over the Eucharist, inviting those present to invoke the intercession of St. Artemide Zatti so that peace may reign in the country. The celebration was then enlivened by the two choirs of the higher Salesian Institutes of the province, the School of Political and Economic Governance (ECOPO in French) and the School of Salama Information Technology (ESIS in French). The celebration in honor of St. Artemide Zatti was attended by a total of nearly 1,000 people, including Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesian Cooperators, the youth of the Salesian Youth Movement, and many other supporters of the Salesian Family.
