Anisakan, Myanmar - November 2022 - The Councilor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, Fr Joseph Phuoc, visited the "Mary Help of Christians" Vice Province of Myanmar (MYM) from 28 October to 5 November. The Regional Councilor visited five of the Salesian communities, covering all the Houses of Formation. He then met the confreres at the Provincial House, attending the funeral mass in memory of the Salesian Fr Joachim Ye Maung. During his short stay in Myanmar, Fr Joseph Phuoc brought the affection of the Rector Major, encouraging the Salesians of the country and inspiring them to keep hope alive. For their part, the Salesians of Myanmar said they were grateful to have received the Councilor's visit, especially in the demanding and complex situation that the country is experiencing, and thanked him for listening to them and for sharing moments of joy and sorrow.
