Nigeria - Lagos street children learn about St. Artemide Zatti and celebrate his life
Lagos, Nigeria - October 2022 - Street children in Lagos, Nigeria, also had the opportunity to learn about and explore the figure of St. Artemide Zatti. The Salesian work "Bosco Boys Home" invited these children, together with members of the oratory, to draw a portrait of the new saint. Through this simple exercise, the children learned that they too can imitate the new Salesian saint and copy his virtues, especially that of helping others. Welcoming street children is part of the program offered by the "Bosco Boys Home," which, under the leadership of Fr. Linus Onyenagubor, SDB, seeks to establish the first point of contact with young people. Through weekly interventions, accompanied by a group of volunteers, mostly alumni, Fr. Onyenagubor and community members try to win the trust of the children and thus help them even while they are living on the streets, with the goal of later being able to bring them to the "Bosco Boys Home" and include them in rehabilitation programs.
