Tanzania - Graduation ceremony and new boarding school at International Institute of Telecommunications, Electronics and Computers "Don Bosco Kilimanjaro"
Arusha, Tanzania - October 2022 - The 14th graduation ceremony of the International Institute of Telecommunications, Electronics and Computers "Don Bosco Kilimanjaro" (KIITEC, in English) was held on October 15. A new boarding school for the center's students was inaugurated on the same day, and the installation of the Rector of this new Salesian community, Fr. Sebastian Chirayath, took place. Archbishop Isaac Amani of Arusha, the guest of honor, in his speech praised the Salesians and Don Bosco's preferential love for poor youth, noting that in his diocese the Salesians are educating needy youth through technical education and vocational training. Also present were the Vicar of the Salesian Province of East Africa (AFE), Fr. Jacob Augustine; KIITEC's main benefactor and sponsor, Francois Brochon; counselors, the Architect, engineers, students, and many other guests. The KIITEC center offers courses in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Electronics and Telecommunications.
