04 October 2022

Lviv, Ukraine - September 2022 - New Rochelle-based Salesian Mission Office, "Salesian Missions," sent containers with humanitarian aid destined for Ukraine to Warsaw. The containers were picked up and transported to Ukraine by the Salesian Mission Office in Warsaw. The first container, with medical supplies (4,532.92 kg), arrived in Lviv on September 8 and was transferred to the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Eastern Rite - Salesian Sisters in Ukraine. Part of the supplies was sent to the Salesian community in Zhytomyr. All medical products are destined for local hospitals and people in need. The second container, containing rice (19,627.85 kg), arrived in Lviv on September 21 and was received by the local communities - Greek Catholic Salesians and Salesian sisters - and the Salesian community in Zhytomyr. The food is intended for needy residents of towns and villages in eastern Ukraine, where there is the greatest need for aid. The support sent by Salesian Missions is really essential, especially now that the food and medicine warehouses in Ukraine are empty and the needs of the population, due to the prolonged war, are increasing.
