Zambia - Priestly ordination of three Salesians
Makululu, Zambia - July 2022 - On Saturday, July 9, at the "St. Don Bosco Chiloto School" in Makululu, Archbishop Emeritus of Lusaka, Msgr. Telesphore George Mpundu, ordained three Salesian deacons as priests: Nyoman, a missionary ad gentes in Naples, in the Salesian Province of Southern Italy (IME); Brian Mukuka, of the "St. Don Bosco Chiloto," who was sent to Rome to pursue his studies; and Nelson Mwale, who was assigned to the Diocese of Mansa, Zambia, as oratory director and assistant pastor. In addition, deacons Delphano Mushibwe and Geoffrey Chanda from the Society of African Missions were also ordained priests. The event was attended by several Salesians from the Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe-Namibia Vice-Province and (ZMB) of the IME Province, as well as from the other dioceses where the deacons worked, plus a large representation of government officials.
