Guatemala - "Indigenous Queen" of Carchá thanks Don Bosco
San Pedro Carchá, Guatemala - June 2022 - On June 4, Maria Fidelia Paau, a member of the Maya-Q'eqchi ethnic group, was elected "Indigenous Queen" of Carchá with the title "Flower of the People" for 2022-2023. After her election on June 8, she went to the Salesian Boarding School to thank Don Bosco. Maria Fidelia Paau was one of the first girls with whom the Salesian oratories in San Pedro Carchá began, studied in the middle school of the Salesian "Don Bosco" boarding school and in the secondary schools of "Talita Kumi" of the Salesian Family. She is now studying Educational Science at the Salesian Mesoamerican University and is among the girls who received a scholarship from "Missions Don Bosco."
