Brazil - A crowd of faithful in Porto Velho celebrates Mary Help of Christians
Porto Velho, Brazil - May 2022 - Thousands of faithful celebrated the feast day of Mary Help of Christians in Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia, in the Brazilian Amazon. Mary Help of Christians is the titular patroness of the Archdiocese of Porto Velho, which grew out of Salesian missionary work when it was a Prelature at the time. With the support of the Salesian parish of Fátima, and the guidance of Salesian Past Pupils and the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), the procession took place. Starting from the Salesian Shrine in the Areal neighborhood, it traveled through the streets of downtown to the "Sacred Heart of Jesus" Cathedral, where the solemn Eucharist was celebrated and presided over by the Archbishop of Porto Velho, Msgr. Roque Paloschi.
