Slovakia - A project to help young people with stressful experiences
Bratislava, Slovakia - April 2022 - The Maltese National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco held its first international meeting in attendance in Bratislava, Slovakia. This gathering served to work on a new European project on helping young people through the use of the sea and the coast, the lake, and the shores. This project, funded by the "Erasmus+" program, will focus on creating a toolkit for youth workers and professionals who work with young people experiencing stressful experiences such as anxiety, grief, loss, and depression. The toolkit will contain several sea- and lake-related activities. Partners from Malta, Slovakia, Belgium, and Italy met from March 30 to April 3 to discuss the toolkit and to discuss other preparations for the training course to be held next September. During the meeting, the Past Pupils also met with Fr Marian Peciar, who shared his experience among Ukrainian refugees and the support offered by Salesians and Past Pupils from Slovakia.
