Belgium - Salesian schools in Belgium cycling to support "Don Bosco Verviers", hit by July floods
Liège, Belgium - March 2022 - It is an extraordinary human, charitable and sporting adventure that was experienced by about forty cyclists who left the "Don Bosco" Institute of Liège on March 30. The group, made up of pupils and teachers, covered a good part of Belgium in three days and as many stages, to bring a cheque for several thousand euros for charity to the Salesian work of Verviers, especially hard hit by last summer's floods. The group, made up of representatives from various Salesian works in Belgium - in particular, Liège, Remouchamps, Huy, and Tournai - covered 350 km in three stages. "The fact to emphasize is the beautiful lesson of courage and perseverance of the young people who overcame their limits in the face of the cold, snow, and wind that they had to face. And the accompaniment of the professors who relied on these young people to carry out the project, despite the adverse weather conditions," said Fr Xavier Ernst, Delegate for Youth Ministry, a cycling enthusiast.
