Nicaragua – Celebrating 110 years of Salesian presence in Nicaraguan lands
Granada, Nicaragua - March 2022 – The Salesian work in Granada celebrated 110 years of its presence in the country, commemorating the arrival of Don Bosco's first Salesians on March 22, 1912. In the morning, a tribute was held in which members of the educational community presented their talents. In the afternoon, in the chapel of Mary Help of Christians, the Eucharist was celebrated, presided by Fr Ángel Prado, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Central America (CAM), and concelebrated by his Vicar, Fr Javier Rivas, and all the Salesians working in Granada, Masaya and Managua. The celebration was attended by the families of Donna Elena and Luz Arellano, promoters of the arrival of the Salesians in the country. In his homily, Fr Prado thanked all the lay collaborators in the Salesian mission and encouraged them to continue to make Don Bosco's dream grow throughout the nation.
