Ireland – Social Media training
Maynooth, Ireland – March 2022 - On Saturday, 12th March 2022, the Irish Salesian Province organised a training in ‘team building’ and ‘communication’. The training was conducted by Fr Pedro Ayala, SDB, a missionary from Mexico working in Belgium, who is also a professional coach. Some 17 confreres took part in this programme, including Pedro himself and the Irish Provincial, Fr Eunan McDonnell. The training took place in the community of Saint Francis de Sales, our formation house in Maynooth. The different workshops aimed at team building and to see what is needed in the Province to further develop the Social Media dimension of our pastoral outreach to the youth. The main area was to learn how to work as a team rather than as individuals. After a time of discussion in groups, we gathered to create a common goal, which was convocation of ‘Salesian Media Team’. This team consist of Salesians from different communities and volunteers who will be coordinated by Fr Martin McCormack, SDB, and will work in collaboration with Fr Lukasz Nawrat, SDB, who oversees social communication in the Province.
