East Timor - Councilor for East Asia-Oceania Region visits prestigious Salesian school in Essa-Baucau
Baucau, East Timor - February 2022 – On 11 February, the Dean of the Salesian Secondary School of Essa-Baucau, Fr Agnelo Moreira, SDB, with the Salesian community of Baucau, together with the school’s students and staff, welcomed the Councilor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, Fr Joseph Phuoc, with joy. After being welcomed with traditional songs and dances, the Councilor brought greetings from the Rector Major, Fr Á.F. Artime, to the young people of the school, eager for a better future. He then invited all Salesians, students and staff to work together as a family and to cultivate the values of the Gospel. Then, he thanked the Salesians and the staff for their tireless work in providing the best education to young people, encouraging them to study hard to prepare for the future in God and with God. The Salesian School of Essa-Baucau is among the most important in the country, and every year it is at the top of the national rankings. In the last school year, two students from this prestigious school obtained first place in the national exams.
