Ecuador - Twelve Salesians renew their religious profession on the feast of St. Francis de Sales
Quito, Ecuador - January 2022 - On January 24, the Salesian Family celebrated the Feast Day of St. Francis de Sales and the start of the 400th anniversary of his death. On this significant feast day, twelve young Salesians from the community of the international postnovitiate "St. Francis of Assisi" renewed their religious profession. The post-novices come from the Provinces of Ecuador (6), Peru (3), Bolivia (3). The Eucharist was presided by Fr Francisco Sánchez, Superior of the Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU), at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in El Girón (Quito), and was broadcast on Facebook Live and the Zoom platform. During the homily, Fr Sánchez inaugurated at the Provincial level this period of celebrations in honor of St. Francis de Sales, who, like Don Bosco "was passionate about the Kingdom and humanity," and stressed the importance of living the vocation of fidelity to God as Don Bosco did, guided by the goodness and love of St. Francis de Sales. Mgr Alfredo Espinoza, Archbishop of Quito, also attended the event.
