Brazil – Celebration of the 60th anniversary of the “Dom Bosco” Educational Center of Joinville
Joinville, Brazil - October 2021 - The “Dom Bosco” Educational Center received floral tributes from the Municipal Chamber of the city of Joinville for its 60 years of work in favor of the city’s adolescents and young people in situations of social vulnerability and poverty. For 60 years, the “Dom Bosco” Educational Center has assisted more than 450 young people every year, serving more than 2,000 meals a week, providing them with psychological and societal support. Its work consists above all in developing youth leadership. Through the “Generation 2030” Project, the "Dom Bosco" Social Work implements an integral promotion and formation of young people, developing skills and abilities and stimulating attitudes that generate better people, committed to the common good. The "Young Apprentices Program" is one of the proposals presented by the social work to encourage the integration of young people into the world of work; while for the young people who are not yet of working age, the center offers the Art and Culture Company, the “Edu-communication Project” and the Introduction to the World of Work.
