South Sudan - Celebrating mercy in a time of war
Mänguo-Maridi, South Sudan - July 2016 - The Salesian mission of Maridi-Mänguo in South Sudan is devoting the month of July to living the Jubilee of Mercy with times of prayer, dialogue, discussion and sharing groups, Eucharistic adoration, confessions, masses, moments of leisure and reflection. "It is very important to celebrate the Year of Mercy at this time when the country is experiencing conflict, difficulties and other serious problems," one of the Salesian missionaries wrote to ANS. So far, two mission stations have completed their celebrations - Rastigi on 3 July and Nakua on 10 July. On 17 July, if conditions permit, the Year of Mercy will be celebrated in Manikakara and on 23 and 24 July in Maridi-Mänguo.
