Brazil - Feast of St. Dominic Savio in “Our Lady of Fatima” parish in Porto Velho
Porto Velho, Brazil - May 2021 - During the Eucharist of the liturgical feast of St. Dominic Savio, 17 altar boys from the community renewed their commitment in the Salesian parish of "Our Lady of Fatima". Subsequently, the altar boys, whose patron and model is the holy pupil of Don Bosco, received the blessing of the parish priest, Fr Sérgio Lúcio, who encouraged them to live the altar service with joy and holiness. The Parish Shrine “Our Lady of Fatima” was created in 1953 and its first parish priest was the Salesian Fr Mario Castagna. From the very beginning, the Shrine has been characterized by being a welcome and evangelization center with a marked youthful and Marian sense. The parish is part of the Archdiocese of Porto Velho and is animated by the Salesians of the Province of Manaus (BMA).
