India - 100 women from Mumbai slums trained as advanced tailors and beauticians
Mumbai, India - March 2021 - The "Don Bosco Development Society" (DBDS), the Planning and Development Office of the Salesian Province of India-Mumbai (INB), in the last three months has trained 100 women from the slums of Mumbai in advanced skills in garment-making and as beauticians. The best 40 students were then selected on the basis of performance, economic condition, employment status, disability, and received a beautician's kit or a sewing machine with all the accessories to start their business. The initiative was supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.
