Philippines - Formation meeting of Northern Philippine Province
Philippines - March 2021 - Despite the lockdown caused by the pandemic, the trainees of the Salesian Province of the North Philippines (FIN), through the guidance of the Formation Commission, continue their growth and development as Salesians of Don Bosco. From 16 to 18 March they gathered on the Zoom platform to participate in an online training meeting on the theme "Spirituality, Salesianity and Health". The first topic was “Praying with Saint Francis de Sales”, led by Fr Donnie Duchin Duya, SDB; the second “Young Salesians and Accompaniment”, led by Raymond Callo, SDB, member of the Department for Formation; the latest topic "Safeguarding Mental Health at the Time of the Digital and Educational Workspace", led by Dr. Teresita Martinez, MD. The experience of this online meeting has not only demonstrated that the updating and development of young Salesians can and must continue despite the existing limitations and constraints, but has paved the way for the "new normal" of formation: Salesians in formation can be followed more regularly now that traditional face-to-face can be complemented by these digital encounters.
